ELyse & Andy's Aiguille du Midi Wedding

Perfect

Perfect perfect perfect. What a day ! Words cannot adequately describe this wedding. Elyse & Andy, American ex-pats living in Geneva married in Chamonix last Saturday, outside on top of a mountain to be exact. The 50 guests, mainly from the United States, wore hiking boots or tennis shoes with their summer dresses and suits to get to the ceremony location at the Plan d’Aiguille. Even the bride exchanged vows with a cute little pair of customized white running shoes under her gorgeously fitted wedding gown.

There were paragliders flying over head, the aiguille du midi peak towering in the background, and the September sun shone down brightly from the heavens on Elyse & Andy.

The ceremony itself was very emotional and intimate. The couple did a beautiful ring blessing with their wedding bands passed to every one of their guests who in turn shared a one word wish for them…love, laughter, patience, forgiveness, health, adventure, gumption, and even fly-fishing! J Their personal vows to each other brought tears to everyone’s eyes, even the guitarist had to pull himself together before singing an interlude song!

After taking the cable car back down to the valley the happy couple and their friends boarded a little red tourist train to take them to a gorgeous chalet where a marquee reception was awaiting them for an evening of laughter and happiness…..
