UK’s First Currency Gift Service

Couples in fear of too many toasters, towels or teapots can now include the gift of currency for their honeymoon in their wedding gift list.  Leading foreign currency provider, ICE (International Currency Exchange) has launched the UK’s first currency gift service for couples planning their wedding gift list.

Joanna Williams, Head of Marketing for ICE said: “Like Will and Kate, most couples today have lived together before tying the knot and will have all the basics.  Memories really do last longer than material gifts and this service makes it easy to gift travel money to help make the wedding or honeymoon an experience to remember forever.”

To register, couples simply need to log onto ICE’s website or call 01455 897811.  ICE will then create a dedicated page that is password protected, incorporating the text and photographs of the couple’s choice or if preferred ICE’s standard information. Once this is completed ICE confirms the link to pass on to friends and family so they can make currency cash contributions. There are no set up fees, commissions or delivery fees.

Family and friends can simply visit the secure web page to access the currency gift page for the couple and choose the amount in sterling that they wish to gift and leave a message.  There is a small transaction fee of 79 pence per contribution. The couple can then choose which currencies they would like the money converted into, safe in the knowledge that the rates provided by ICE are consistently the most competitive in the market place.

The money can be exchanged into a combination of local currency, travellers cheques or the funds can be uploaded to the ICE Travellers Cashcard in Sterling, Dollars or Euros.  The currency will be delivered securely on a chosen date with a description and messages from everyone who contributed.

The ICE Currency Gift Service also enables Stag and Hen parties taking place overseas to ‘pool’ their spending money into one pot from which the cost of the celebrations can be paid via cash, travellers cheques or the ICE Travellers Cashcard. No arguments over who has paid their fair share!

Joanna Williams concludes: “Whether it be for a wedding, honeymoon, anniversary, birthday or any special occasion, this innovative service is a smarter alternative to traditional gift vouchers.”
