Cozy Hamlet Wedding
Maria & Lauri
This Finnish couple and their guests spent a full week soaking in all the valley had to offer for their destination wedding in a cozy hamlet. They enjoyed amazing views, good food, and great skiing before the big day celebration.
The wedding guests all came to Chamonix a week early and stayed a 4 chalet hamlet where they could easily stop in to be together all week. The week was filled with ski trips around the valley and visiting beautiful Alpine vistas. The day before the wedding the couple skied the Vallee Blanche together!
After a refreshing week, the bridesmaids spent the wedding morning primping and laughing with the bride. She was glowing as she stepped on to the cabin terrace for first looks. In a very still moment overlooking the mountain village of Chamonix, her handsome Finnish groom tapped her on the shoulder with a grin stretching from ear to ear. The bride’s delicate gown draped softly over her shoulder as they took each other hand and hand.
A simple fireplace side ceremony was held in a rustic Alps venue with a black-tie dress code. This couple’s families played a part in the wedding. The very talented family sang songs together at the ceremony. The mother playing the flute and the bride’s brother playing the guitar for the first dance song as the couple twirled around the dance floor.
The reception was relaxed with a French-style 4-course meal that included sea bass tartar, rosemary veal, and trout rillette. The guest list was small, close friends and family, so every toast was heartfelt and hilarious. The couple had multiple languages spoken throughout their wedding and encouraged their guests to make speeches in their native tounges to ensure every emotion was properly communicated. After a few stories, cheers, and laughs the guests joined the couple to dance to a live band until the wee hours of the night.
