With successful careers, high ambitions, and busy schedules this couple knew they wanted to wait for that really special someone. Someone who would support them, try new things with them, travel with them, and share their lives together. When these two met they hit it off immediately. They were rarely apart even though their careers sent them all over the world. Everyone could see they were a match made to be and they quickly became the definition of a power couple.

Chamonix has a special place in the hearts of these two. They met here. Fell in love here. They built their base here! They both love skiing – especially touring. No matter where in the world they went together they kept being called to the mountains. The idea of a destination wedding here excited them so much because they could share it with everyone they love, all at once!

They wanted to really kick off the destination wedding weekend with something unique and fun. A way to bring everyone together and give them an experience they would never forget. So they planned a glacier view welcome party overlooking the biggest glacier in France – the Mer de Glace. Everyone was welcomed aboard an authentic Alpine red cogwheel train that took them from the Chamonix valley to the Montenvers station at an altitude of 1913 meters! From altitude, they could see beautiful views of the north faces of the Grandes Jorasses, the Leschaux glacier, the Vallée Blanche, the Drus mountains, and the stunning glacier. It is truly spectacular! The party lasted all night long and a big portion of the guests stayed overnight at the historic refuge. – We wrote a blog about it!

The morning of the wedding was relaxed. The bride slipped on her intricately laced wedding gown and cozy fur shawl. The groom put on a very suave blue suede suit with a black bow tie. Then they made their way to the cable car to head up to altitude. The groom and his crew went up a bit before. The groom wanted to make a grand entrance. They strapped on their skis and took the lifts up to the top of the ski Flegere area. The bride took her separate bubble car up to meet him at altitude. We timed it perfectly.

The ceremony was extremely beautiful. There was a clear sky overhead with a clear view of the mountains towering around them. They exchanged their vows in both French and English with their loved ones and the famous Alps ridge line as witnesses. After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed bubbly as they soaked in the view before heading back down to the valley for the reception.

The first venue was an edgy chalet-inspired restaurant where the groom and his 5 friends performed with their band. Everyone was on their feet dancing and enjoying canapés as the sun started to set. Just as the light was starting to disappear we did a sparkler exit to the next venue for dinner.

The dinner was in a cozy classic Alps restaurant with a log cabin feel. Everyone feasted on a delicious menu with vegan and veggie options. They watched as the groom played a beautiful ballet on his guitar to his bride before joining him on the dance for to dance till the early morning hours.

The morning after the wedding everyone got together for a big breakfast buffet in the middle of town. (This restaurant is actually right by our office and we love it!) The sun was shining as everyone arrived at different times. Some guests chatted about preparing to head back home while others were sharing adventures they had planned for the week in Europe. It was a relaxed way to say goodbye to Chamonix’s newest married power couple.

Special thank you to Haute Transfer our sister company for teaming up with us at this destination wedding.
